(VOD) YJ's message on Guruguru 9.26.08

Hello, participants of Gurunai program.

This is Bae Yong Joon, and I'm very thankful that you've come to Gosireh. I'm curious to see how the Gurunai program will introduce the cuisine at Gosireh. I will be delighted if more people will become interested in Korean cuisine though this program.

Please enjoy the dishes presented by Gosireh today. I hope that this program will be a happy one, and I also hope that everyone will be healthy and happy.

Thank you.

(By Cloud Nine/bb's blog)

The dishes served for the program were rather special, even more luxurious ingrediences (like seasonal Matsutake mushroom) are picked I think. The prices of each dish range from 3800 yen to 11,000 yen, and Gosireh actually serves those menus only in October.

BYJ: Hello!

Reporter: It's been quite a while since our last meet. So you're just back from Japan, How's your trip?

BYJ: Ah..... Really, I really feel relieved.....I've got quite a few interviews. I've got a wider field of view facing the whole Aisa because of which we had a lot more topics to discuss and I have more sense of responsibilities.

Reporter: I've heard that you have "shaked" the whole Japan?

BYJ: It's not me shaking them, hehe. In Japan, there are a lot of my family members and reporters. It is them who have shaked me and my heart.

Reporter: How many people participated in the media conference?

BYJ: Seemed that it was the first time to have so many reporters and media attending a conference.

Caption: BYJ BYJ Look in this way, this way....

Caption: BYJ has set up a new record in the history for movie stars visiting Japan.

Reporter: What made you feel mostly impressed?

BYJ: There was one thing which really impressed me a lot this time.

It was just after the interview on "April Snow", one reporter who had never known Korean before, came to me and said to me in a low voice:"I am your fan as well."

At that moment, I felt really really happy like we just complete a secret mission. hahaha...

Reporter: How's your feeling for being a Hallyu Star?

BYJ: Besides being an actor, I think I need to take more responsibilities and also I can make more contribution to the society. I was born and brought up in Korea, so I would like to devote myself to publicize Korea.

Reporter: If you were on a travel by yourself, where you would go?

BYJ: It's hard for me to imagin now. I think I might go travel with my camera with which I would like to record the beautiful autumn sceneries of Korea.

Reporter: How about making an exhibition of all your photograpy works.... We will all look forward to it.

BYJ: So... you are my fan... isn't it?? haha...

Reporter: Yes.....

Caption: The reporter Lee Ji Hee who becomes BYJ fan.

BYJ: Congratulations on the 300th periodical of Section TV. Thank you very much for delivering news to the public in an effective and positive way. Wish all of you healthy and happy.

(Trans) Yonsama, the most sparkling star I've ever met!

by Omura Msaki - the host of TWSSG Premium Event 2008

Source: Love Korea Drama Vol.23
Original in Japanese

Yonsama, the most sparkling star I've ever met!

Fascinated by TWSSG

Reporter: What's your impression of Mr. BYJ before you hosted this special event?

Omura: Among all his works, I've completed Winter Sonata. and then, the host of ‘Tokudane" Mr. Okura refered me to another work of BYJ, i.e. Hotelier.(“Tokudane is a Japanese Tamasha)

BYJ played the role of Frank Shin in Hotelier who is ruthless but smart which gives me favourable impression. Last year in "Tokudane", I learned about that he got hurt during his filming of TWSSG when he fell down from a horseback. In the meanwhile, I know that BShi had begun the air of TWSSG which really interested me and I've watched it every other week. Now since NHK put it on air, I've been watching it every week.

I think BYJ's role in Winter Sonata is really amiable which arouses people's maternal instincts.

Reporter: What your feeling was when you were picked to be the host of this premium event?

Omura: At the first moment, I had no idea about the scope and numbers of participants of this event. Learning that there would be 35,000 people, I really felt it's totally beyond my ability. And then when it was decided that I would be the host, I began to re-watch the discs of this drama which I borrowed from my friend. I was totally fascinated by it and I myself became the fan of Mr. BYJ. I was quite sure that I would be highly competent to arose some topic in this premium event once I knew that I felt fond of BYJ.

The scene in the drama which really gives me deep impression is Damdeok's appearance in the casino in episode 4. As a person who is in succession to the throne, he still enters into the ordinary people's lives which really impressed me. And in episode 6, the king instructed Damdeok that he was born with the expectation and he could not choose his own fate, his life and his love at his own will which made me feel heartbreak. Also, the scene in polo court is worthy seeing as well. I've watched Jumong whose historial background is earlier than that of TWSSG. To Japanese, the history inflecting in this drama is quite unfamiliar, but since BYJ plays the role, it will definitely attract the audience's attention. It is not easy to finish 24 episodes within a short period of time. I've been watching this drama intermittently since last year, so this time I will just pick some unseen episodes. I've got a good memory so almost all the storylines are in my mind now. Even though, when I saw BYJ's imagie as Hwan ong in first episode, I was shocked.

Reporter: How's your view towards Hallyu dramas?

Omura: I feel they are in the same mode and same storyline. Although Hallyu really hits the whole Asian Market, its future can be predicted. I rarely watch the Hallyu drama, but I do watch some Korean movies. I am a person who is easily to be influenced, but those drama are so likewise, even I've seen them, I would not be amazed by them. But the historial drama is an exception. They are novelties to me. and from last year, I began to feel " Hallyu can last longer than it thinks. Hallyu can become popular again."

Reporter: You met with Mr BYJ before the premium event, what did you two communicate about?

Omura: I met him at the rehearsal on May 31. He has really long hair. At first I didn't know that it was him. But when I saw his smile, his pure white teeth, I realized instantly it must be him. I felt a little bit nervous and I remembered that I greeted him in my limited Korean:"I am the host Omura, drama, moved, drama, greatly moved." When I told him about those affecting scenes, he came to me and shaked hands with me. I was astonished by his action. He, such a famous star, shaked hands with me initiatively. I was sweating all over and my hands were wet and also I felt the power of his hand. I was greatly moved by the feeling of shaking hands with him. To me, he is reachless, but facing him in front of me, I felt that he was so modest and easy to approach which totally suprised me. He is the most sparkling star I've ever met! But I am not saying that he is hard to get close, what I mean is once you get closer to him, you can feel that your heart is opened and refreshed.

reporter: During the event, have you had any discussion with the hostess Ms. Kim Tei?

Omura: Ms. Kim Tei is a specialist in hosting those kinds of event espcially with the crew from Korea. I got a lot of supports and helps from her during this job.

Since it was first time for me to meet her, I've greeted her at first and then our topic changed to the drama itself. We had a very warm discussion. We've spent one hour on the meaning behind that last episode which she held totally different opinion of mine. We have a lot of topics to discuss since both of us feel this drama is interesting. I accepted Ms. Kim Tei's interpretation of this drama which eliminated my queries as well. At last we came to one conclusion, i.e. what really matters more is the audience comprehension of this drama and the reason why we discussed and interpreted it is because we really like it. There are much more topics between us two which made it difficult for us to decide the basic procedure of the host.

After the adjustments, we were on the same pace and the conversation between me and Ms. Kim Tei had eliminated my presure and anxiety about the fact that there would be 35,000 participants in this event. I've changed my thoughts, I would join those 35,000 fans to enjoy the wonderful and precious moments and this became my motivation of my job.

Reporter: In June 2's "Tokudane", you've mentioned that you felt really anxious before the event, but what really happened before it?

Omura: Actually I just got the final procedure of this event when I was interviewed. I was so worried that I would not have enough time to review the event procedure beforehead. And then the staff from “Tokudane"came whom I had to deal with as well. I felt that I was just like a sandwich kept in the middle which really made me nervous. haha.

Reporter:Did the event undergo by your intention?

Omura: During this event, I've made several mistakes, like spoke superfluously which I am now in self-reflection. I felt that I didn't host through the view as a host but through the view as an audience of TWSSG. In a way, I feel tuned in with those fans. My aim was to let everyone have equal opportunity to make their speech. According to Mr. BYJ's words that "everything is undergoing so naturally". In one way, I can say this event is really a sucess and everyone has a good mood.

Reporter: In fact you are a passionate host.

Omura: I hope every performer can feel successful in this event. As to this point, I think it was really smooth. Those performers come from different management companies and also this event is not only for Mr. BYJ himself. I had to manage this point duirng my host. To me, I know the fans wished to spend more time with Mr. BYJ, but I couldn't speak it out. I've seen that Mr BYJ himself noticed it as well.

Reporter: Like in which occassion??

Omura: Like in the rehearsal, Mr. BYJ showed his consideration to the staff. When PD Kim made his speech, Mr. BYJ stepped back a little bit in order to let the other performers hear what PD Kim was saying clearly. When I saw this, I thought how careful and considerable he is! It's not easy to notice those details, coz if you don't observe carefully, you've never notice that. But it came out so naturally from Mr.BYJ.He is spontaneous in doing this. I think it must be his habit to be considerable to the others, not show off at all!His heartfelt smile is natural just like reencountering old buddies.

Reporter: What's the audience's reaction towards this event?

Omura: I assumed that the majority of the participants in this event are Mr. BYJ's fans. Of course those fans began to like other performers through this drama. Not only did they listen carefully to BYJ's speech, but also to the others'. When I saw this, I felt really appreciated. If those fans were Hallyu fans in one single day, there wouldn't have been so many applauses and The whole stadium was brimming over with warmth and sincerity. I felt that those fans are mature and stable which gives me a lot of strength through this event.

Reporter: When the crew were standing in that vehicle cycling the whole stadium, it must be a very impressive scene.

Omura: Yes, I saw those fans who were overwhelmingly moved, waved to Mr. BYJ and gave him the most heartfelt greetings. I myself were immersed in this happiness. As a host, I felt I really fulfilled my task in hosting this event and in the meanwhile, I was amazed to realize Mr. BYJ's popularity.

Reporter:After the event, did Mr. BYJ greet you?

Omura: Yes. After the event, he greeted me in Japanese with big smile:"Thank you so much for your help today." I greeted back to him in Korean:"Yonsama, you are really a nice person." By saying this, I felt myself in high spirit. And then, We took few pictures together. He put his arm over my shoulder and I felt the power of his arm which gave me a friendly feeling between us. And also I felt his sturdy muscles on his chest. Oh, If I were a female, I am afraid I would faint on the spot.
(*Lynn: OMG, Mr. Omura's words just gave me too much visualization...........hehe..........^_^)

And now looking back to this event, I feel substantial that I've collaborated with Mr. BYJ.

YJ’s essay about Hajodae.

Shared by Gaulsan/Quilt

Gaulyoja has posted YJ’s essay on KOB. She didn’t write the exact date or the media, but it is likely that it was written near YJ’s debut. - gaulsan

Hajodae.

I’ve traveled almost every part of Kangwon-do, but the place that comes up in my mind first is Hajodae, the pIace that I’ve stayed for about 3 months, two years ago.

Its magnificent nature is well preserved, and there is very few people because that area is preserved as a resort for military personnel.

On a stormy day, I stood near the cliff of Hajodae, which was echoing the roll of thunder. The scene of the waves shattering into white foam was so magnificent that I think the memory of the scene will last till the end of my life.

I often speared fishes, and there was a funny episode with a fish named “Goonsoo”. The old fishers of the village told me that boiled ‘Goonso’ – a kind of sea mollusk whose size is about one feet - has a special taste. Hearing their advice, I became curious how it would taste, so I caught four large Goonsos and put it in a large pot and boiled it. When the water began to boil, I opened the lid of the pot, and Oh my God! I was confused. Those Goonsos were shrunken into the size of a finger! Anyway, whenever I think of Goonso, I still laugh.

I recently visited that place with Kwon Oh Joong, who became friends while shooting ‘Love Greeting’. That pIace gives me new impressions each time I visit there. Hajodae was the place that I ended the wandering of my youth, and was the place that I made a new start. Therefore it has a special meaning to me and my life.

BYJ will spend a very leisure "Chooseok" holiday with his family.

It will be "Chooseok"this weekend. Although it will only be a 3-day holiday, a lot of celebrities will spend it either through bustling work or by a more leisure way.

Hallyu Star Bae Yong Joon will have a very nice and harmonious holiday with his family. Due to the filming of TWSSG, he didn't enjoy the "Chooseok" holiday last year, so this year, he will spend it with his parents at home. (Japan Trip 3) Dining at Gosireh Tokyo

Finishing the Parkbof trip, we headed to Gosireh.

It's nearby the Parkbof. only 5 mins distance.

The building of Gosireh, located in the alleyway, glows as the lights behind it espcially during the night time. That's why I can see it from a distance.

It is raining, so the pictures look blur.......

After taking some pictures in front of it, me and my hubby stepped in.

The staff are all in the Hanbok, the glassy yellow dress and white apron.

I told them that I had an reservation and seems that they were waiting for me already cuz they said:

" ha, you are lynn, right? the one who made three calls from the states."

"Yes, it's me. nice to see you."

Yes, I did make three calls from San Francisco to make the reservation. First two of them got hang up. And it took twists and turns for me to manage to make the reservation. A LONG STORY!

I was in the lobby, the place where YJ stood when he visited Gosireh for the first time.

And the stairs towards the second floor, I remember those stairs where he walked down to the lobby. So I stood in the same place as wuri YJ did.

And remember wuri YJ has once checked those hollow-cutting ceilings. Guess he must have used a ladder to reach them, coz I've tried to reach them as well, but way too high......

The waitress told me that she was the only one who can speak English that night and she led us to a compartment on the second floor.

We were served citron tea at first and after a while the waitress showed up again.

She let us move all the stuff from the table. Puzzled! why we need to do this??
My misgivings disappeared immediately.

The window at the inner side of the table which I thought was only a decoration was opened. Four people carried a black board with full of dishes and slided the board to our table. The whole process was finished within few seconds.

The borders of the rectangled table are lower than the central part which matchs the board as a slide rail.

WOW, It is the unique way for them to serve the dishes. Just within few seconds, our table is full of food. AMAZING!! The deviser is really a genius!

The food are insipidity and delicate and served in an elegant way by the waitress.

Even though she told me the names of the foods, but still I can not remember, here they are!

feel like a bunny when I take this course

The whole room has two tables which were divided by a bamboo shade in the middle. It's really quiet. Only me and my hubby were in that room.

Despite of the delicious food, quiet and graceful environment, the speed for them to serve food is relatively slow. Really Slow. The interval between the courses are really long.

Both me and my hubby were really tired and felt drowsy.

The whole course were served more than 2 hours!

my hubby felt drowsy and lean on the window.......

Finally, came the desert:

1. Five spice tea. Heard that it is YJ's fav. The tea contains five difference spices: Sour, Sweet, Bitter, Spicy and Salty.

I took one sip of it. The first taste I got is sour, then sweet and bitter. The spice of Salty is all along with the other spices for me and I didn't feel the spicy.

2. 3-colored mochi. It is yummy!!

A really nice dining place. High-class, elegant, nice staff! The staff kept bowing to you and I have to bow back which really hurt my back, hehe.

But I do have one concern about Gosireh, I hope their staff can improve their English. Since there will be a lot of fans coming from overseas.

(To be continued.....)
